Alex Hentze

Alex Hentze is an electronic musician and sound artist who grew up surrounded by the vibrant contrasts of urban and rural Guatemala. His work explores storytelling, social justice, and resistance through sound installations and compositions. After moving to Argentina in 2010, he released the albums Simetría de Sosiego and A Helpless Presence, which helped him solidify his artistic identity and gain global recognition. Committed to decolonizing sound, he has founded projects like Mazukamba Beats, which blend Latin American sounds and challenges traditional narratives, fostering innovation in the region's music scene. Since 2021, he has taught at the Cinema School of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, inspiring future creators with his vision of music as a relational and transformative art form.
