AZADI.mp3 is a London based polymath. They are a songwriter, producer and DJ who uses atmospheric soundscapes and densely textured visuals to explore moments of grace and failure. With their raw vocals over genre-bending pop inflected production, AZADI exercises their punk sensibility, taking you on a journey of vulnerability. Their first audio-visual releases, ‘Who Is AZADI.mp3?’ and ‘Aphrodite’ were characterised by this duality, which culminated in their Debut EP ‘Summer in the Crypt’, supported by the 2019 NTS Work In Progress artist development programme. Last year saw AZADI.mp3 feature on ‘Intended Consequence’ (2023) the latest compilation by Apranik Records, highlighting electronic music made by Iranian women and non-binary people, as well as a sold out performance at Cafe OTO for Another Sky festival .A rising star in London’s DJ circuit & beyond, AZADI.mp3 warps discoveries and disappointments through the turntables as an act of self-preservation; a serious commitment to a good time. From breaks to UKG to sounds found only in the dark recesses of the internet, everything AZADI.mp3 spins is filtered through their roots. Unreserved expression as the common thread through frenzied DJ sets, they take you on a journey; dizzily mashing together middle-eastern sounds and drum patterns with club classics to shake your ass to. This year, having given up the last of the stammering faithlessness, AZADI.mp3 will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore EP, Control.
