Juan Chao

Juan Chao is a DJ/Producer focused on the preservation of indigenous music at risk of extinction. He is the founder and director of the Original Music Archive, where he leads initiatives to safeguard these musical traditions. His projects include setting up sampling and music production studios within communities, creating archives, and developing educational music tools tailored specifically for each community. He has worked with communities across the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Juan typically performs in a live format, where he plays tracks composed in collaboration with the communities he works with.
